Stars dazzled on the red carpet as they arrived to celebrate a night of cinema, fashion and glamor at the 91st Academy Awards on Sunday February 24th 2019

The famous Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, played host to the 91st Academy Awards ceremony on Sunday February 24th. Oscars 2019 was not without its controversies in the lead up to the awards, with the most noticeable being the ceremony’s lack of a host. However, despite this, the Academy Awards 2019 were billed by most as a success.

The biggest winners on the night were Rami Malek for Best Actor for his starring role in Bohemian Rhapsody, Olivia Colman for Best Actress for her leading role in The Favourite, Mahershala Ali for his supporting role in Green Book and Regina King for her supporting role in If Beale Street Could Talk. Green Book managed to defy the odds and scoop the top prize for film, Best Picture. And another top award, Best Director went to Alfonso Cuaron for the Netflix movie, Roma.
